John's Bunkhouse Berneray is a modern comfortable hostel which opened in 2018.
Built in the Hebridean ‘blackhouse' style, it combines the charm of a traditional building with the comfort of a purpose-built, low energy bunkhouse. Situated by a beautiful tidal beach it is close to the ferry to Harris, the local shop/ bistro and the causeway to North Uist. It's a great jumping off spot for exploring the Uists and Harris. Walkers and cyclists following the Hebridean Way will find it an ideal place to break their journey.
The bunkhouse is suitable for individuals, families and groups of up to 8 people. Facilities include a drying room, bike shed a peat burning stove and internet access.

Covid 19: We are currently taking bookings for the coming 2021 season. However, due to the fluid nature of the Covid virus, opening our bunkhouse will depend on government guidance closer to the time. We live in hope, and would love to be able to accommodate you when you want to stay.
